Tom Hurndall was a peace activist and an aspiring photojournalist. His photographs, alongside his journals, bear witness to the often terrible, sometimes uplifting, events he saw and experienced while living among families in Iraq, in a refugee camp in Jordan, and in the Gaza Strip. It was there on 11 April 2003 that he was shot in the head by an Israeli soldier while attempting to rescue a child who had been pinned down by gunfire. He died nine months later in hospital in London.RIP

A mother and child say goodbye as one is shipped off to make veal.
A lot of people don’t know the truth about dairy. The cows do need to be milked, but only because the “Farmers” artificially inseminate the cows. Cute baby cows right?
Wrong. The baby is taken from the mothers minuets after birth. Male baby? Put in a veal crate to be slaughtered. Female baby? Separated from her mother to endure the same fate as her. Not to mention the life span of a cow can last over twenty years, but as soon as she cannot produce milk fast enough, she is sent to the slaughterhouse.
Mother cows go through this cycle every 14-15 months. Since mothers only are “Good enough” for the industry for about five years, that’s five babies she will be separated from.
You know how protective dogs and cats and humans are of their young. It’s not any fucking different for a cow. She is not made for us. Her milk is for her babies. HER babies,
That she will never see again.
